Stainless steel profile tube 1.4509
A square tube is a sectional tube with a rectangular or square cross-section. Square tubes are used, among other things, depending on the dimensions and manufacturing process, e.g. for steel construction or mechanical engineering structures.
Stainless steel
Stainless steel is known as the generic term for stainless, corrosion-resistant steels. It contains at least 10.5% chromium. The majority of these materials have an austenitic structure with a nickel content of at least 8%. In the solution-annealed condition, the steels are generally not magnetizable on delivery. Austenitic steels have good toughness and resistance to brittle fracture even at very low temperatures. The term stainless steel is known internationally under the name Stainless. The majority of stainless steels are suitable for welding by all common welding processes except gas welding.
Material 1.4509
Material 1.4509 (X2CrTiNb18) is a titanium and niobium stabilized ferritic chromium steel. The stabilization makes the material resistant to intergranular corrosion even in the welded condition. As with all ferritic stainless steel grades, the general corrosion resistance is considered to be adequate and approximately comparable to that of 1.4301.
Method of manufacture and surface treatment
Welded products are usually tubes, structural hollow sections or hollow steels, usually made from flat stock (e.g. sheet metal).
