Stainless Steel Round Tubes 1.4301

A round tube is a long hollow body with a circular cross-section and a wall thickness that is small relative to its diameter. It is used to convey liquids, gases, vapors, and also solids of granular, powdery, or slurry/muddy consistency.

Stainless Steel

The material stainless steel usually refers to corrosion-, acid-, and heat-resistant steels (RSH steels). The majority of these steels have an austenitic microstructure with a nickel content of at least 8% (as is the case, for example, with the material designations VA, V2A, V4A, or NIROSTA). Austenitic steels are usually non-magnetic in the solution-annealed delivery condition. They are weldable using all welding processes except gas welding. Compared to ferritic stainless steel, they are excellently cold-formable. Austenitic steels exhibit generally good corrosion resistance as well as very good low-temperature toughness and resistance to brittle fracture.

Material 1.4301

Material 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), commonly known as V2A, is an austenitic, corrosion-resistant 18/10 CrNi steel. 1.4301 is the most commonly used stainless steel grade. In its as-delivered condition, the steel is resistant to intergranular corrosion. However, at greater product thicknesses, resistance cannot be guaranteed in the welded condition, depending on the welding process used.

Manufacturing Method and Surface Treatment

Seamless products are generally pipes, structural hollow sections, or hollow bars, typically manufactured from solid round stock. Seamless pipes are used, for example, in pressure applications.
