Stainless steel perforated plate 1.4301

A perforated plate is a plate with similar openings (holes) in regular arrangements. These are made by punching, drilling, milling or other processes. Common hole shapes are round, square, oblong, the latter angular or with round ends. The perforation runs offset to each other or in a straight line.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is known as the generic term for stainless, corrosion-resistant steels. It contains at least 10.5% chromium. The majority of these materials have an austenitic structure with a nickel content of at least 8%. In the solution-annealed condition, the steels are generally not magnetizable on delivery. Austenitic steels have good toughness and resistance to brittle fracture even at extremely low temperatures. The term stainless steel is known internationally under the name Stainless. A majority of stainless steels are suitable for welding by all common welding processes except gas welding.

Material 1.4301

Material 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), colloquially known as V2A, is an austenitic, corrosion-resistant 18/10 CrNi steel. Among these, 1.4301 is the most commonly used grade of stainless steel. The steel is resistant to intergranular corrosion in the as-delivered condition. For higher product thicknesses, resistance cannot be guaranteed in the as-welded condition, depending on the welding process selected.

Manufacturing method and surface treatment

The cold rolling forming process can be carried out subsequent to hot rolling. It is possible to achieve much smoother surfaces and tighter thickness tolerances than hot rolling.

Material with surface type 2B has undergone the following manufacturing steps: cold rolled, heat treated, pickled, cold re-rolled. The produced surface is the most common finish for most types of steel and ensures good corrosion resistance, smoothness and flatness. Due to the gray, slightly reflective surface, 2B is most similar to the natural stainless steel surface before the material is further processed. In this regard, 2B is often used for places that are not in the visible area, or should not serve a decorative purpose, but a functional one. In the quenched state, the material may be weakly magnetizable. However, with increasing cold working, the magnetizability increases.

Note

When ordering single sheets with thickness up to and including 15 mm, we cannot guarantee flatness and surface finish. This is especially true for sheet products longer than three meters. We ask for your understanding.
