Stainless steel flat bar 1.4305
A flat bar is a long bar with a rectangular cross-section with a width of up to 150 mm and a thickness of 4 - 80 mm.
Stainless steel
The material stainless steel is usually referred to as rust, acid and heat resistant steels (RSH steels). The majority of these steels have an austenitic structure with a nickel content of at least 8% (as is the case, for example, with the material designations VA, V2A, 1.4571 or NIROSTA). Austenitic steels are usually not magnetizable in the solution-annealed delivery condition. They are suitable for welding by all welding processes except gas welding. Compared with ferritic stainless steels, they have excellent cold-forming properties. Austenitic steels exhibit generally good corrosion resistance as well as very good cold toughness and brittle fracture resistance at low temperatures.
Material 1.4305
Material 1.4305 (X8CrNiS18-9) is a sulfur-alloyed variant of 1.4301. Due to the sulfur, this material offers significantly better machinability, but as a result also only low corrosion resistance. This is not comparable with 1.4301. The poorer corrosion resistance and the high sulfur content make this material unsuitable for the food industry. The American comparative material to the machining-optimized 1.4305 is AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) 303.
Manufacturing method and surface treatment
Drawn is a manufacturing method used to reduce cross-sections, improve the surface as well as improve dimensional tolerances. A wide variety of profile shapes can be created in this way.
Standardization: EN 10088-3
EN 10088-3: Stainless steels - Technical delivery conditions for semi-finished products, bars, wire rod, drawn wire, sections and bright steel products of corrosion resistant steels for general use.
Fit tolerance h11 according to ISO 286.
