The stainless steel round bar 1.4305 (X8CrNiS18-9) is a sulfur-alloyed variant of 1.4301, offering significantly improved machinability. Diameters range from 2 to 25 mm. Due to its sulfur content, this material has lower corrosion resistance and is not suitable for food industry applications. The material has an austenitic structure with at least 8% nickel and is generally non-magnetic in the solution-annealed condition. Stainless steel includes corrosion-resistant steels with a minimum of 10.5% chromium, providing good cold forming properties and high resistance to brittle fracture even at low temperatures. Manufacturing is performed by drawing to reduce cross-sections, improve surface finish, and dimensional accuracy. Machinability is enhanced by sulfur addition or work hardening. Standardized according to EN 10088-3 with fit tolerance h9 per ISO 286. Suitable for applications requiring good machinability but moderate corrosion resistance.
Commercial steel

Round tube, thick-walled
A round tube is a long hollow body with a circular cross-section. The wall thickness is rather small in relation to the diameter. It is used for the passage of liquids, gases, vapors, as well as solid substances with a granular, dusty or mushy/sludgy consistency. Thick-walled pipes are characterized by a large wall thickness.
Production method and surface treatment
Seamless products, such as pipes, hollow steel sections or hollow steels, are usually made from round solid material (bill, lip, press bolt). Seamless pipes are used, for example, in pressure-controlled areas.
