Cold drawn round bars made of material 1.0579 in the variants S355D+SL and S355J2C+SL are unalloyed quality steels with a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa. The +SL condition indicates improved machinability achieved by specific production methods. These bars offer high dimensional accuracy, excellent surface quality, and are ideal for demanding machining processes and structural applications requiring increased strength. Typical use cases include mechanical and plant engineering as well as load-bearing components in vehicle construction. The material is not corrosion-resistant and requires surface protection when used in aggressive environments. Changes and errors excepted.
