Sheet made of ferritic stainless steel 1.4016 (AISI 430) – hot rolled – offers moderate corrosion resistance indoors, good formability and is magnetic. The material is not hardenable by heat treatment and provides solid resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Typical applications include interior architectural elements, household appliance backs, decorative indoor components and automotive trim parts. Limited weldability and stable dimensions during forming characterize this grade. Standards: EN 1.4016 / X6Cr17, ASTM A240 (roughly equivalent to Type 430).
