Information & Downloads

Unequal angle made of stainless steel 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti) – hot-rolled for precise use in steel construction, mechanical engineering or plant engineering. The titanium-stabilized CrNiMo steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, including in welded condition, and resists intergranular corrosion. Ideal for use in demanding chemical environments requiring form stability. Austenitic structure, non-magnetizable in solution-annealed condition. Manufactured according to EN 10088-3. Stainless steel unequal angle 1.4571

An angle section is a right-angled long product. The shape resembles the letter L. In the case of a non-equilateral angle, the length of the legs is different.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel, known as the generic term for stainless, corrosion-resistant steels, contains at least 10.5% chromium. The majority of these materials have an austenitic structure and a nickel content of at least 8%. In the solution-annealed condition, the steels are generally not magnetizable on delivery. Austenitic steels have good toughness and resistance to brittle fracture even at very low temperatures. The term stainless steel is known internationally under the name Stainless. A majority of stainless steels are suitable for welding by all common welding processes except gas welding.

Material 1.4571

Material 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) is a titanium-stabilized CrNiMo steel and belongs to the V4A group. This grade belongs to stainless steel. Even in the welded condition, this material is resistant to intergranular corrosion due to stabilization with titanium in the welded condition. The general corrosion resistance of steel grade 1.4571 is similar to that of 1.4404 and better than, for example, 1.4301. The American reference material to titanium-stabilized 1.4571 is AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) 316Ti.

Manufacturing method and surface treatment

In the manufacturing process hot rolled the starting material is heated to the appropriate hot forming temperature before forming. Depending on the material, scale layers form on the surface during cooling (e.g. steel).

Standardization: EN 10088-3

EN 10088-3: Stainless steels - Technical delivery conditions for semi-finished products, bars, wire rod, drawn wire, sections and bright steel products made of corrosion-resistant steels for general use.
