Aluminum sheet EN AW-5754

Thickness: 1.5 - 2.5 mm, width: 1250 - 1250 mm

A sheet is a flat product with a rectangular cross-section, the width of which (at least 600 mm) is much greater than the thickness. The surface is generally technically smooth and flat. Three sheet formats have become established in the trade, namely small (1000 x 2000 mm), medium (1250 x 2500 mm) and large (1500 x 3000 mm). In addition to these standard formats, however, special formats with other dimensions are also available on request, such as 2000 x 4000 mm or 2000 x 6000 mm.

Aluminum

Aluminum is a light metal with a density of 2.7 g/cm³. In addition to its low specific weight, aluminum is characterized by generally good corrosion resistance and favorable strength properties. For this reason, the material is well suited for use in aviation, for example. Furthermore, aluminum can be subjected to various surface finishes, which is why it is often used for decorative elements. However, not all aluminum is the same. There are many different alloys with different properties for different applications.

Material EN AW-5754

Material EN AW-5754 has high strength values among naturally hard aluminum alloys and also has very good corrosion resistance in seawater and in the weather. The material has good weldability and is used, for example, in shipbuilding. The alloy EN AW-5754 is suitable for decorative anodizing, but its strength cannot be increased by heat treatment. The chemical symbol for the aluminum alloy EN AW-5754 is AlMg3.

Method of production and surface treatment

The degree of work hardening of aluminum or copper is called semi-hard. In this case, the material has been work hardened to half of the maximum possible work hardening.

The delivery condition H244 describes patterned or embossed sheets or strips produced from the corresponding H24 condition.

Note

When ordering single sheets with thickness up to and including 15 mm, we cannot guarantee flatness and surface finish. This applies in particular to sheet products with a length exceeding three meters. We ask for your understanding.
