A round bar is a long product with circular cross section. The dimension is named according to the diameter, such as Ø 20 mm.
Aluminum
Aluminum is a light metal with a specific weight of 2.7 g/cm³. In addition to the low specific weight, aluminum is characterized by a generally good corrosion resistance and favorable strength properties and is therefore used, for example, in aviation. Furthermore, aluminum can be subjected to various surface finishes, which is why it is often used for decorative elements. It should be noted that not all aluminum is the same and there are many different alloys with different properties.
Material EN AW-7020
The corrosion resistance of EN AW-7020 is only moderate in the weather and in seawater. The material has medium strength values and, unlike the highest strength aluminum alloys, has not been alloyed with copper. This makes EN AW-7020 suitable for fusion welding. The designation AlZn4,5Mg1 is the chemical symbol of the aluminum alloy EN AW-7020.
Method of production and surface treatment
Non-ferrous metals are produced by extrusion. Heated aluminum or copper is forced through a forming die during extrusion.
